You may have heard all the odds and increasing numbers of worldwide pollution, mass destruction of our water resources, rain-forest and animal extinction caused by animal agriculture. For every cow, grown, fed, slaughtered and sold for food we deprive ourselves and our planet of its potential to grow thrive and evolve. The killing of animals for food is a crisis to humanity. Our population only grows increasingly and will continue to do so. The consumption of meat not only impacts our environment, it also influences our health greatly.

The growing demand for meat and dairy products have only added to the rising amount of Americans diagnosed yearly for disease and illness such as diabetes, cancer heart, and cardiovascular diseases.

According to the article release by PETA organization:

The growing issue is alarming and wake up call for all of us is much needed at this dire times. If the tables were to turn the results would be opposing.

Imagine that in a nice perfect world animals were treated unconditionally with love and affection. Animals, without hesitation participated and were happily prepared to be killed for food. They stood in line with pride knowing that they will soon be devour by humans. It was their pride and joy. Now ask yourself, would this be the answer to the drilling question of whether animals should be eaten for food?

What about our health? Is a carnivorous diet a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for humans? Does it promote or demote longevity of life. I question myself this very theory when it comes to animal consumption, its nutrition, effects and benefits.

And whether heavily consumption of meat is really a benefit or crisis?

What are we really eating?

What is really drowning us of of these health care concerns such as obesity and diabetes?

The baffling afflictions that arises driving us to dig for more resources remedies and cures to sustain a longer life span. Why is it an epidemic now more than ever? Did we get fatter or did the cows?

The questions that never seems to end and only grow as we search for more answers.

There are many factors that involve our health, food is one of the mains. It is the first and foremost thing for us to look at. What we consume affects the way our system behaves and respond. Food is what nourishes our bodies, it can either effectively build us or stagnate our very existence.

As we process to the so called future, the changes seem to shift to a more artificial alternatives to improve our health. The longings for natural cures have gone past our time of modern society. We have become more lenient to the fast, responsive and temporary fix of pills. As they have been used many times over to cure ailments, weight loss and body enhancements.

The difficulty is that we find eating a diet based on animal and its by-products normal and a component part of our nature. In truth, it is only slowing down our body circulation, lowering our immune system and producing bodily inflammation. A normal reaction for many of us when we feel indisposed is to follow up with a physician. We are then given a prescription for medications that can (temporary) control these reactions, that are merely caused (for the most part) by the food that we consume.

The best way to avoid these cycles is to truly take a closer look at what you are eating. Many of our ailments and diseases can come to light when we become more aware of what we are putting in our body. The truth goes to the saying that you are what you eat.

Many of us have uneasy reactions to food that are neglected many times over which then lead to bigger issues. The root of the problem go unnoticed and become diagnosed as a medical concern that only strays us farther from the truth.

Cows are heavily fed with hormones and antibiotics. They allow the cow to grow at a supreme rate producing higher volumes of milk and meat products. More products for consumers to meet the increasing demand. What we receive from animals are highly chemical products with added hormones. These chemicals and hormones interact with our bodily fluids and system. At times they inflame our body making us feel sick and uneasy.

There are other options such as antibiotic free and hormone free, organically grown meats available at many grocers, catering to those who dares to pay for a pricier meat, hence the naturalness of its process. So its a catch 22. You still get to enjoy your favorite meat without the added stuff. Though someone, out there is still making profits slaughtering animals for consumption based on an ideal conditions or not.

I mean why go through all the trouble for a piece of steak, it either digs a hole in your pocket or cause detrimental risk to your health. How do you save money, the planet and eat clean all at once.

The answer is to Go vegan or eat more nutritious plant-based food, ditching protein from animals every so often. If veganism is too extreme at first, you may want to pace yourself. Make it a goal to cut meat completely.

Though, easier said than done. I know I have deceived myself in the past to think that meat was necessary for our survival. Not having the understanding I do now about animal and its consumption.

At the end of all of it I really wanted to make a difference for myself, how I felt and most important the environment around me, nature and all its creatures.

Going vegan is not a one day trip, it takes time and is a process. Leaning to more vegetarian options for meat eaters is the best way to go. Try the 80/20 route. 80 percent whole foods plants and 20 percent of your chosen protein, whether it is tofu or chicken. Eventually you should be able to dismiss that habitual way of eating animals. A vegetarian's grocery trip tend to cost a lot less than a meat-eater due to the high expense of meat. You will save a lot of money eating more produce. Produce can be grown in your very own backyard, saving you even more in the long run. I began gardening a few years back, growing vegetables and herbs at my overlooking terrace. Some dirt, pots and seeds (even from leftover compose) is all you need. Nature will provide some sunshine and water for your seeds to thrive.

So why not fill the hole in your pocket and amp your lifestyle by trying a plant based diet. No need to rush just go at it one day at a time. A day of vegan can do wondrous things.
