Meat alternative dishes or what I call animal-free food are the most common alternative that many vegans use, and are perfect for wannabes. Yes, the no guilt zone of having to wonder the amount of calories, fat, and gluten we take in after eating a big mac and fries or even more close to home, buried in our freezer, a box Angus burger and McCain fries for our convenient. No thank you.
Opinions and articles comes in millions when researching the questions held against Soy products and alternatives. Soy is by-product of Soybean from the legume/bean family. In the past there have been many statements of the long term effect of soy to your health. Some folks agree and some do not. I believe in balance. I am not a doctor to give advice in terms of anyone's health. But I can say that if you feel that you have little tolerance for soy or its products, then there is a possibility that it isn't for you. Limiting your intake would be a great option. Light to Moderate use.
I do not suggest to make this your everyday meal to account for the fact that you are no longer eating meat or dairy. Too much of anything can be hazardous to anyone, natural or not. Although, they are far more healthier in comparison to the junk foods sold at every corner of the street.
The best part is, you can access these great products at a store near you. When it comes to shopping for alternatives your options vary from store to store, as some may offer various brands and products. A great place to look would be online, if you have some sort of awareness of the brand you are looking for.
If your looking to window shop first or rather go in store, Whole foods would be a great place to start. I have also notice certain Walmart locations now offer vegetarian meat alternative such a tofu, beef and meatballs.

As mentioned above there are plenty of accessible brands that offer plant based, vegan and vegetarian meat and dairy alternatives that are out in the market. My first pick would be Gardein. Perfect for summer BBQ's and social gatherings, I bet no one would even notice your eating vegan. They also offer a wide variety options from chicken to beef alternatives.
