The toast of the millennia, Plant-based eating, and animal rights and freedom or in simpler terms Veganism. It has taken the world by storm. More and more people are jumping the bandwagon of healthy eating and returning back to their roots. Whether it's vegan, vegetarian , plant-based, raw, to fruitarian, they all share one thing in common, plants! A prize all on its own, Plant-based eating has been found to be the most effective way to battle dis-ease and sustain a healthy mind body and spirit. It is efficient and a non-toxic choice for the environment. And a viable lifestyle choice.

Awareness is all it takes to fully understand and grasp the changes taking place within our body when we choose to consume food that are either nourishing or destructive to our health. As we age our body crave more nutrients that are beneficial to its evolution. Being mindful of what we eat is key to meeting our needs. If we were to shift our awareness to ourselves we will see that our inner and outer world is one. It will become clear that what we put in our body is simply a reflection of what we put out in the environment in return. Self-awareness is a reflection of your awareness to the world around you.

Veganism can be a sticky, and a guilt-trip choice for many of us first timers or wannabes. Transitioning to veganism is a lifestyle change which in turn, is a 360 turnaround. For some of us, it takes a lot for that change to take place no matter how simple it may have seemed at first. My point is, transitioning to veganism can be a rough path if the proper intention is not present. Losing weight was a motivating factor for me at first when I turned to plant-based eating. It became more like a strict diet to me, dull, difficult and unsustainable. I did not enjoy much of it. I realized that a diet is only as good as the length of time you dedicate to it.

A diet would be an inappropriate category to put veganism in because eating plants are far more than just a diet. It is a lifestyle change. Eating meat was seen normal, and veggies alone was obsolete where I grew up. If you dislike meat you were seen as weak and fragile, "too skinny" they say, " you might die of starvation." The world just seems to cherish the thought of animals in our plates. No wonder why it's difficult. We feel surrounded. The truth is plant-based eating is the way to go! We help save the planet, the environment, animals and keep our body lean, clean and healthy.

In order for you to make a successful transition to veganism you must change your perspective from the inside out. Fear nothing. We are here to make a change in ourselves and the world we live in. Vegan is the new norm. See yourself vegan, Eat Live and Breath Vegan. Be vegan and you're already there.
