Finding it hard to stay on track?
The road to veganism, for some can often feel like your stepping on an unknown territory. It can often look easier said than done. Never fear, here are 7 helpful tips that will make your journey to veganism a lot smoother than you may think.

1. MAKE SMALL CHANGES
Even small changes can make a big impact to you and the world around you.
A day without meat is beneficial to our environment and our body.
So why not have Meatless Mondays once a week or a vegetarian meal once or twice
a day. Take it slow and remember to go at your own pace. Small changes are a great start and are easy to maintain as oppose to going cold turkey and cutting out meat/dairy products all at once.
2. TRY MEAT/DAIRY ALTERNATIVES
These are great for starters. Alternatives are a delicious replica of many of our favorite western dishes. This includes veggie burgers, Beefless ground, Chic'n Strips, Chicken cutlets and yes cheese and more cheese. The savory goodness of meatless meat creates a perfect start for wannabe vegans. They are simple, delicious, and can be made in 15 minutes or less.
Meat Alternative brands varies from store to store but the ones accessible to many of us can be found at Whole Foods and Walmart.

3. STOCK UP ON A VARIETY OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Always buy a variety of fruits and vegetables in a variety of colors, the more colors the better.
Buying an array of fruits and vegetables gives us more options on taste, texture, and nutriment value. We all favor one fruit or veggie from the other. Our own likes and dislikes. Try new or stick to the oldie, but whichever your preference is buy go for an assortment of colors as they are very appealing to our eyes pushing our desire to eating more of it. Nutrition research shows that red and bright pink fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals, such as lycopene and anthocyanins. When it comes to eating plant based you want to get plenty of vitamins and minerals from an mixtures of fruits and vegetables. So why not go to your local market or Asian grocery store, pick up a fruit or two to experiment with and taste.
Create a variety in your plate. Mix different kinds of potatoes such as red, brown and purple ones to your dish. They look good and taste even better. Combine lime and lemon for a more pungent taste to your salad. Even throw an array of berries from strawberries to blackberries on top of your toast for the early morning sweet tooth's. Chop off mix shades of lettuce and add kale and spinach for a green mean salad.

4. EAT BEFORE YOU'RE HUNGRY
This is an important part of the transitional phase to a vegetarian diet.
Staying full and keeping your tummy happy is what keeps you going when eating plant-based foods. Plan ahead! If you normally eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at similar times work towards those times. Once you wait until you are fully hungry to eat you will crave a heavier meal to satisfy your hunger. To avoid this, you must keep your tummy happy by keeping it satisfied with healthy whole foods.
Give yourself time to prepare your meals at home. Vegetarian dishes cook at a lesser time in comparison to meat dishes. When you are going out with friends or partner, look over restaurant menus ahead of time or go to places that serves vegetarian dishes. A new experience that will surely enjoy.
Always pack fruits and veggies with you to go, snacks such as nuts, raisins and dates are healthy light snack that you can easily pack. It will keep you satisfied until you are ready to eat.
If you are in social event, gathering or restaurant, I would assume that bringing your own handy snacks is not a part of your option. So why not order in an appetizer such as soup or vegetarian dish that is new to you. Experimenting is key during this process. It allows you to feel more free than limited to eating vegetarian dishes. This process should feel enjoyable not a feeling of entrapment.

5. STAY ON TRACK, REMEMBER WHY YOU ARE COMMITTED TO THIS
Many of us have own goals when it comes to a plant-based diet. Weight loss, detox, health benefits, slimmer figure, and lifestyle change are many of the factors that relates to why we choose to eat more plants. Reminding yourself of this will keep you on the right track. Veganism is a lifestyle and we all fall back every once in a while and we are not wrong or bad for doing so. We are humans. It may take your 20th try before you get the full hang of it and it is completely okay. You will reap and experience its benefits sooner than you think and that alone will keep you focus the whole ride. Hang on!

Staying motivated allows our mentality to shift its focus to that one thing we desire to accomplish. Daily motivations and affirmation are our powerful allies during the transitional state to vegetarian diet.

A great way to start is to speak to local vegans, friends, coworkers in your neighborhood to get a dosage of what its like to be vegan. Ask lots of questions! Do a ton of research. Make yourself feel at home with your decision because that will keep you motivated. This is helpful for when you decide to stay a vegan and do it for the long run. The deeper you dig the more you faster you will come to the conclusion that you are digging in a gold mine. You must surround yourself in a positive environment that allows you to evolve further during your transitions. There are plenty of Youtube channels and Personal Vlogs you can follow online. They show tons of info on what they eat as vegans, in a day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are online recipes and tips that can help you during your transition.
